Parents2000
The
Parents2000 module is an optional part of School2000. It provides independent access for parents, guardians
and grandparents of each student. Parents can access/monitor their children's
attendance, grades, merits, concerns, gomework timetable and teacher's
notes in a variety of ways. Many parents find it difficult to take time
off to visit the school and meet teachers. Some, specially Ethnic Minority
parents find it intimidating or uncomfortable. Teachers are also busy,
over worked. Professional parents may also find it difficult to meet teachers.
Parent-teacher meetings happen a few times a year and often do not provide
parents adequate time to respond, which results in parents sometimes being
unable to respond/plan proactively, which often results in missed opportunities
and disappointing/unexpected results. What parents require is constant/timely
access to their children's records to provide midcourse correction, if
required.

Over
the Internet

|
Parents
can visit www.School2000.co.uk
at any time, and enter their unique usercode/pincode to view/print
their children's attendance, grades, merits, concerns, hoework,
timetable and teacher's notes, from anywhere in the world. Each
parent is given a unique usercode and pincode, which they
use to access their children's records. Only their children's details
are made available to them. The web site starts-up in English, and
changes to the preferred language of the parent, after their usercode
and pincode is entered. Parent communication can be English or any
of up to 30 European, Indian, African, Middle and Far East languages,
enabling ethnic minority parents to equally participate in their
children's education

Alerts are delivered in a variety of format, primarily by Email and
optionally on mobile/SMS. Alerts are in English or any of up to 30
European, Indian, African, Middle and East languages. SMS alerts are

First
day calling

|
We provide an
option to automatically telephone parents on the telephones/mobiles
when their children are late/absent or when teachers enter grades/merits/concerns/notes.
Parents must enter their usercode/pincode before the voice-message
is delivered. This ensures that only parents receive the message
and not those who pick up the phone. If the usercode/pincode is
not entered correctly, the voice-message would request the parent
to dial the School2000 and enter their codes to retrieve
the messages. This procedure is in line with data-protection recommendations,
which most other school management systems violate, subjecting schools
to legal risks. Telecall2000
must be installed for this service.
